Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2, 2026
By using TheRandomEngine (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Service. Because there's no account or sign-up, using the Service at all (generating a password, rolling dice, flipping a coin, and so on) counts as acceptance.
1. Description of the Service
TheRandomEngine is a free, no-signup collection of random-generation utilities: random numbers, passwords, names, QR codes, lorem ipsum text, dice rolls, coin flips, and UUIDs. Each generator performs a one-off computation in response to your request and returns the result to you; we don't create user accounts, store generated content, or charge for use of the Service.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or attack the Service (e.g. automated scraping at abusive volume, denial-of-service attempts).
- Use generated output (e.g. QR codes, names, or passwords) to impersonate others, commit fraud, or facilitate any illegal activity.
- Attempt to circumvent any rate limiting or security measures we put in place.
3. No warranty on randomness or fitness for a particular purpose
Our generators use cryptographically secure random number sources and are built with care, but the Service is provided "as is" without any warranty that outputs are suitable for a specific purpose, including but not limited to regulated gambling, official lotteries, or other legally sensitive uses. If you intend to use generated results (coin flips, dice rolls, random numbers, etc.) in a context with real financial, legal, or contractual stakes, you are responsible for independently verifying that doing so meets any applicable legal or regulatory requirements in your jurisdiction.
4. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and responsive, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. The Service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, updates, or causes outside our control.
5. Intellectual property
The site's design, code, and branding belong to TheRandomEngine. Content you generate (random numbers, names, lorem ipsum text, QR codes, passwords, UUIDs, dice/coin results) is yours to use freely; we don't claim ownership over generator output, and by its nature it isn't unique creative work we could meaningfully claim rights to anyway.
6. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or, if you consent to Analytics cookies, load scripts from third-party providers (currently Google Analytics). We aren't responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services; please review their own terms and privacy policies separately.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TheRandomEngine and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any decisions made based on generated output.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time as the Service evolves. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TheRandomEngine operates (placeholder: specify the actual governing jurisdiction before production launch).
10. Contact
